There are two Richmonds — the historic county seat on the Brazos, and the enormous unincorporated sprawl along the Grand Parkway that shares its mailing address. They don’t rank the same way, and most contractors only reach one of them.
Send us your website and the areas you cover. We’ll check how you show up in old Richmond and out along the Grand Parkway — they behave differently.
The incorporated city holds somewhere around twelve thousand people. The unincorporated area carrying a Richmond address out toward the Grand Parkway is on a completely different scale — and still building.
A website targeting “Richmond” and nothing else is aiming at a small historic town while the actual volume sits several miles away in subdivisions that didn’t exist twenty years ago. Both need naming, separately.
In 1880 Richmond refused to grant right-of-way to the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railway. The railroad simply built its junction three miles west instead and named it Rosenberg. The two have been growing into each other ever since — sharing Lamar Consolidated ISD, sharing planning projects, and for practical purposes sharing one economy.
Your customers know this. Somebody living on the boundary genuinely does not think about which city they are technically in, and they will happily call a company in either one.
Google is less relaxed about it. These are two separate incorporated cities with separate boundaries, and it ranks them separately. A business physically in Rosenberg can be invisible for “Richmond” searches happening two miles up the road, and vice versa.
The practical answer is not to pick one. It is to have genuine content covering both, so you are eligible either way — which is exactly why we built a separate Rosenberg page rather than lumping them together. The reasoning behind that is on our local SEO page.

Richmond was founded in 1822 by Stephen F. Austin’s colonists at the fort on the bend of the Brazos. Fort Bend County is now the eighth most populous in Texas and has ranked among the fastest growing counties in the country. That combination produces a service market with an unusually wide range.
In the historic core you have genuinely old homes — the 1883 John Moore Home is a museum, but plenty of its neighbors are still lived in. That means restoration work, careful remodeling, foundation and structural repair, and the sort of jobs where doing it wrong is expensive.
Out in Aliana, Harvest Green, and Long Meadow Farms you have the opposite: recent builds wanting pools, outdoor kitchens, fencing, landscaping, and finish-out. Buyers who moved from elsewhere and research thoroughly.
Roofers, HVAC, plumbers, electricians, foundation specialists working Brazos floodplain soil, remodelers, landscapers, pool builders, fencing, pest control. Whichever side you serve, the site should say so specifically rather than claiming “Richmond” and hoping.

Fort Bend’s growth has brought a lot of marketing companies with it, and most business owners around Richmond have been pitched a monthly retainer by now. Turning it down was not shortsighted — it was refusing to commit to a recurring cost with nothing to judge it by.
We start with a build you own outright: one project, one agreed price, finished and handed over. Search fundamentals are part of it rather than an extra line — clean structure, schema, real page speed, and pages written around the neighborhoods your customers actually name when they search. For plenty of businesses here, that is the entire job.
Ongoing SEO comes after, if the numbers support it. We’re not going to claim it ever finishes, because it doesn’t — in a county growing this fast, the competition keeps arriving.
Judge it the way you judge a truck payment. Earning more than it costs, keep it. If not, stop — and we’ll tell you before you have to work it out yourself.
We’re twenty minutes up the road and happy to meet in person. Send your site over or call — the audit is free and there’s no obligation.
