KATY, TX · HARRIS, FORT BEND & WALLER COUNTY

Web Design in Katy, Texas

Katy is one of the most competitive service markets in the Houston area — and one of the most misunderstood. We build websites that get found across all 200-plus subdivisions, not just the ones near I-10.

THE THING NOBODY TELLS YOU

Most of “Katy” Isn’t Actually in Katy

The City of Katy is small. The Katy area is enormous — a sprawl of master-planned communities across three counties, most of it unincorporated, all of it with a Katy mailing address. That gap causes real problems for local search.

A few of the places that say “Katy, TX” on the mail
FORT BEND
Cinco Ranch8,000+ acres and around 15,000 homes, started in 1991 — the oldest sections are now well over thirty years old.
FORT BEND
Cross Creek RanchTechnically Fulshear, zoned largely to Katy ISD, and everyone calls it Katy.
HARRIS
Elyson & SunterraNewer northwest growth off the Grand Parkway, still filling in with new construction.
FORT BEND
Seven Meadows, Grand Lakes, FirethorneEstablished communities south of I-10, mostly built out, now cycling into repair and replacement work.
WALLER
Cane IslandNorthwest of the old town center, newer construction near I-10.
Same mailing address. Three different counties.Which is why a customer in Cinco Ranch and a customer in Elyson can search the same words and get completely different results.
HOW PEOPLE ACTUALLY SEARCH

Katy Customers Search by Subdivision, Not by City

Somebody in Grand Lakes with a busted water heater does not type “plumber Katy TX.” They type “plumber near Grand Lakes” or “plumber 77494” — because that’s how they think about where they live. With over two hundred subdivisions carrying a Katy address, the neighborhood name is the identity, not the city.

Almost no contractor website is built for that. They target “Katy” and stop, which puts them in a fight with every other company in a tri-county sprawl for one very expensive phrase — while the specific, high-intent searches happening inside each community go unanswered.

The opportunity is in the gap. A page that genuinely covers the communities you serve, the ZIP codes you actually drive to, and the problems specific to those homes will pick up searches your competitors are not even aware of. Fewer people search those terms. The ones who do are ready to call somebody.

That’s the same principle behind our own service area pages, and it’s explained in more depth on our local SEO page.

WHO WE BUILD FOR

Two Kinds of Work, Two Kinds of Customer

Katy grew in waves, and the wave a customer lives in decides what they need from you.

The Cinco Ranch and Kelliwood sections built in the nineties are now thirty-plus years old. Original HVAC systems are long past replacement. Roofs are on their second cycle. Water heaters, fencing, windows, and foundation work on Gulf Coast clay all come due. These homeowners are searching for repair and replacement, usually urgently.

Meanwhile Elyson, Sunterra, Cane Island, and the newer Cross Creek Ranch phases are still filling with new construction. Those owners want pools, outdoor kitchens, landscaping, fencing, custom finish-out, and ongoing service. They are searching for upgrades, and they research for weeks before calling.

Roofers, HVAC, plumbers, electricians, foundation repair, remodelers, pool builders, landscapers, pest control, fencing, garage doors — whichever you are, you are almost certainly serving both groups and speaking to only one of them on your website.

STRAIGHT TALK ON COST

Buy the Website. Decide on SEO Once You’ve Seen It Work.

Katy is competitive enough that somebody has almost certainly pitched you a monthly SEO retainer. If the number made you hesitate, that was a sensible reaction, not a failure of nerve.

We start somewhere simpler. The website is a one-time build at a fixed price, and it belongs to you when it’s finished. The search fundamentals are part of that build rather than an add-on: clean structure, schema, real page speed, and pages written around the communities and services your customers actually search for. In a market this large, that alone often changes the phone.

Ongoing SEO is a separate decision made later, with real numbers instead of projections. And we won’t pretend it’s a one-time job — it isn’t. Katy has too many competitors publishing too much for a ranking to hold itself in place.

But the maths is simple enough to do on the back of an invoice. If the work brings in more than it costs, keep it. If it doesn’t, stop — and we’ll be the ones to tell you when that’s the case.
