ON-PAGE SEO SERVICES

Everything Google Reads Before It Ranks You

On-page SEO is the work done directly on your website — the titles, headings, content, structure, and code that tell a search engine what your business does and who it serves. It’s the part you fully control, and the part most sites get wrong.

PAGE ANATOMY

What an Optimized Page Actually Looks Like

Every element below is something a search engine reads. Most business websites have three or four of them. The ones ranking above you have all of them.

TITLE TAG
AC Repair in Katy, TX | Same-Day Service | Your Company
The blue line in search results. Around 60 characters, leading with the service and the place — not your company name.
META DESCRIPTION
Licensed AC repair in Katy. Same-day appointments, upfront pricing, no overtime charges. Call 281-555-0100.
Doesn’t affect ranking directly, but it decides whether anyone clicks. That makes it worth writing properly.
H1 — ONE PER PAGE
Air Conditioning Repair in Katy, Texas
The page’s single main statement. Not “Welcome”, not “Home”, and never more than one.
H2 / H3 STRUCTURE
Emergency Repairs  ›  What We Charge  ›  Areas We Cover
Headings in order, describing real sections. They map the page for both readers and crawlers.
BODY CONTENT
Enough words to actually answer the question
Not keyword stuffing. Depth — covering what a customer genuinely wants to know before calling.
IMAGE ALT TEXT
alt="technician replacing an AC compressor in Katy TX"
Describes the image for screen readers and search engines. Most sites leave every one of these blank.
SCHEMA MARKUP
LocalBusiness · Service · FAQPage · AggregateRating
Structured code stating your hours, area, services, and rating as fact rather than leaving Google to infer them.
INTERNAL LINKS
Pages pointing to related pages, with descriptive anchor text
Spreads authority through your site and shows Google how your pages relate. Almost universally neglected.
URL
/services/ac-repair-katy/  not  /page-id-482/
Readable, descriptive, and stable. Changing it later means redirects, so it’s worth getting right first.
PAGE SPEED
Loads before the visitor gives up
Compressed images, clean code, caching. A slow page loses visitors before any of the above matters.
WHY IT MATTERS MOST

The Part You Actually Control

There are three broad areas of search work. Off-page SEO depends on other websites deciding to link to you. Local SEO depends partly on how close you happen to be to the person searching. Neither is fully in your hands.

On-page SEO is different. Every element of it sits on your own server, and you can change any of it this afternoon. That makes it the fastest-moving part of search work and the sensible place to start — there is no point building links to a page that doesn’t say what it does.

It’s also where the most damage is usually sitting. When we audit a service business website, we routinely find pages with no H1 at all, title tags that just say the company name, every image missing alt text, and no schema anywhere. Those aren’t exotic problems. They’re the basics, and fixing them often produces movement within weeks rather than months.

One caution worth stating plainly: on-page optimization means making a page genuinely clearer and more complete, not repeating a keyword until it reads badly. Keyword stuffing stopped working many years ago and now actively hurts. If a page is unpleasant to read, it will not rank well, regardless of how many times it says “Houston AC repair.”

WHAT WE FIX

The On-Page Work We Do

Keyword Mapping

We find what your customers actually type, then map one clear target to each page so your own pages stop competing with each other.

Titles & Meta

Titles and meta descriptions rewritten across the site to lead with the service and the place, and to earn the click once they appear.

Heading Structure

One H1 per page, headings in proper order, and sections that follow a logical path from the question to the phone call.

Content Depth

Thin pages expanded into pages that answer the question completely, written for a customer rather than for a word count.

Schema Markup

LocalBusiness, Service, and FAQ markup added so Google is told your hours, service area, and rating rather than left to guess.

Speed & Images

Images compressed and described, caching configured, and code cleaned up so pages load fast on a phone on cellular data.

WHERE IT FITS

On-Page Work Comes First

We start here on almost every engagement, because everything else is built on top of it. A link pointing at a page with no clear subject wastes the link. A Google Business Profile pointing at a slow, thin website wastes the click.

Once the on-page foundation is solid, the rest compounds: off-page authority gives Google reasons to trust you, local SEO puts you in front of nearby customers, and organic rankings keep producing after the work is done.

If your site is old enough that on-page fixes would mean rebuilding half of it anyway, we’ll tell you that instead — sometimes a new website is the cheaper answer. See the full picture in our Houston SEO services.
